Supporting the Next Generation of Artists: Future Artist Fund Scholarships

At the Mineral Area Council on the Arts, we believe that strong arts programs build confident students, creative thinkers, and vibrant communities. Every year, we see firsthand how art, music, and theatre shape students’ lives—not just creatively, but academically and socially as well.

That belief is what inspired the Future Artist Fund Scholarship.

This program was created to directly support local school districts by providing funding to visual art, vocal music, instrumental music, and theatre departments. Each department may apply for up to $500 to support a special project, classroom need, performance, or program enhancement that benefits students.

We know how often educators stretch limited budgets to make meaningful experiences happen. Whether it’s purchasing supplies, supporting a production, enhancing instruction, or launching a new creative opportunity, this fund exists to help ease that burden and strengthen arts education across our region.

Who Can Apply?

The Future Artist Fund is open to local schools, both public and private, serving students in the Mineral Area. Applications are submitted by educators or administrators on behalf of their department. Each department—visual art, vocal music, instrumental music, and theatre—is eligible to apply.

How the Funds Are Used

Funds must be used for the project described in the application and within the approved department. We ask recipients to provide basic documentation, including proof of purchases and photos of the project process and completion. These materials help us share the impact of the fund with supporters and ensure the sustainability of the program for future years.
